Founded in the middle of 1997 by the Conductor Prof. Valter Cordeiro Campelo, the Community School of Music is a Non-Governmental Organization, which does not have profit ends. The Institute began their activities in the government culture house “Tendal da Lapa”, without any support from the São Paulo City Hall, Prof. Campelo and his students worked hard with few conditions in order to maintain it working and winning challenges thanks to their willpower.
The Community School of Music Head Office, was a ruin granted by the São Paulo State Government, which is placed next to Anhanguera Public High School at Rua Antônio de Raposo, 47, now it is being repaired. The classes are totally free, the Organization has been improving their activities since 1997 to now and step by step we force the government and media recognition. Be welcome to visit us.
